DNA Prep Academy on Spectrum News!
We’re honored to have been featured by Spectrum News as Councilmember John Lee and community leaders visited our campus to meet with our young filmmakers. The students had the chance to share their creative process, discuss their films, and highlight how storytelling is shaping their education and future. Moments like these remind us that the voices of our students matter — and the world is watching.

DNA School of the Arts specializes in developing the next artists: writers, performers, visual storytellers, musicians, content creators, media innovators, graphic and fashion designers. We expose students to multiple creative forms of expression and help them create content to enhance their brand.

According to the National Core Arts Standards, “Arts education supports the social and emotional well-being of students.” Many of our students come to us with multiple talents. Our goal is to create an environment where they can explore their artistic interests, boost self-esteem, enhance interpersonal skills, and build teamwork.

Film Department

Our students participate annually in the Making Movies that Matter Film Festival and produce original film projects throughout the year. From elementary through high school, students work with several external partners who support film production and content creation.

Podcast Department

This year DNA officially launched its Podcast as part of the COMM 101 class. Featured on our YouTube page, these shows showcase our Noble Athletes covering a wide range of topics—from sports debates to cultural conversations—with the same energy and creativity they bring to the field or the stage. Episodes will also include Noble News, providing our community with updates and features produced by our students.

DNA Theater Club

The DNA Theater Club offers in-school and after-school workshops and rehearsals culminating in student showcases and full productions. Students train with respected theater professionals, gaining skills in performance, collaboration, and creative storytelling.

Films

Under the direction of Gary Ferguson, our film class had 10 weeks to produce a short film to be displayed at the 2023 “Making Movies That Matter” Film Festival presented by Council-member John Lee. With over 30 schools participating, and some really good competition in our category, WE TOOK HOME THE 1st PLACE TROPHY for Best Live Action.

“When the star fumbles, the backup rises—The Backup is a short film about humility, preparation, and seizing your moment.”
